Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for the SDGs (STI Forum), 2017
(New York, US) The second annual multi-stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) for the Sustainable Development Goals will be held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, on May 15 and 16, 2017.
The topic of 'Science, Technology and Innovation for a Changing World – Focus on SDGs 1, 2, 3, 5, 9 and 14' was announced for consideration for the 2017 STI Forum, in the context of the theme for the 2017 session of the UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), namely 'Eradicating poverty and promoting prosperity in a changing world' that will focus on SDGs 1, 2, 3, 5, 9 and 14 in addition to SDG 17 that will be considered at each HLPF.
This Multi-stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for the Sustainable Development Goals (STI Forum) was created in 2016 as a component of the Technology Facilitation Mechanism (TFM), which was mandated by the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Addis Ababa Action Agenda (AAAA).
